He was found by friends at around 11.50am on Sunday and taken to the on-site hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Meanwhile, police are continuing to hunt for two men and the weapon used in a "horrific" stabbing at Scotland's biggest music festival.

The 22-year-old victim is in intensive care at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee after he was stabbed in the head and body at the blue zone of the festival.

Revellers at the event were asked to go to police if they came across a knife or blood-stained clothing following the attack.

The injured man was found in the campsite at around 12.40am on Sunday.

Despite the news fans remained upbeat and the rain stayed away on the final day of the festival, which has attracted more than 80,000 fans in its 15th year.

Scots star Amy Macdonald brought the sunshine with her as she took to the Main Stage, belting out hits such as Poison Prince and Mr Rock And Roll.

The 20-year-old from Bishopbriggs near Glasgow told the crowd that it felt "surreal" to be on the Main Stage, having performed at the T Break tent this time last year.

Geoff Ellis, festival director, summed up the weekend. He said: "It's been one of the best festivals we've had. The atmosphere has been great and some of the performances have been great. Rage Against The Machine was a personal highlight and also The Stereophonics did one of their best sets."
