A Scots fitness blogger has been crowned the UK’s hottest female vegan.

Stefanie Moir, 22, from Cumbernauld, secured the title of UK and Ireland Hottest Vegan 2016 from animal welfare charity PETA after she impressed voters with her healthy lifestyle and compassion for animals.

Stefanie, who runs her own fitness empire, NaturallyStefanie.com , was delighted to learn she had won the coveted title.

She said: “It was such a surprise when I received the news. I didn’t think I would place in the final never mind win the competition.”

The health conscious blogger shares plant-based meals and recipes with her 65,000 subscribers.

Stefanie gave up meat and dairy in 2013 after years of living a vegetarian lifestyle.

She said: “I conducted a lot of research before I decided to go vegan.

Leading a healthy lifestyle is really important to me and I set up my website and Youtube channel so I could share my journey with others.”

Stefanie has recently launched a new website for her fans called veganaesthetics.co.uk

The website will feature a 12-week healthy living plan for those looking to eat clean, cruelty free and get into shape.

In the male category, Newcastle firefighter and model Anthony Welsh, 26, won the public vote to take the title.

PETA Director Mimi Bekhechi said: "The two winners are as attractive on the inside as they are on the outside because they've chosen a lifestyle that's kind to animals, the planet and their own health."

The two winners will each receive a one-night stay for two at the luxury boutique hotel La Suite West in London, which will include a vegan breakfast as well as a dinner prepared by vegan Head Chef Nik Heartland at its restaurant, RAW.
