My attempts to drive down my student loan debt began with a regular beat at the now defunct Scottish Sports Agency, where I was given a fabulous grounding in journalism covering lower league football. From there I progressed to the Celtic View, where I enjoyed a five-year stint and earned a few stamps on my passport; my time there coincided with the Martin O’Neill era and there were trips and stories and excitement aplenty. My next stop was here at the Herald & Times sports desk where I continue to slip in and out of press boxes on chilly Saturday afternoons.
