HYDE — HARRY EDWARD, BEM (Mil), ERD, FC IT, FHCIMA, aged 90 years. Reunited on 18th March 2014, with his late wife Elaine, the love of his life, following a losing battle with cancer over a period of 15 years. Much loved dad of Carol, son-in-law Ron and his late brother Adam. He was a greatly admired and respected uncle of his nephews and nieces in Scotland. Remembered with much affection by his wife’s sister Edna and by the Baker family who welcomed him into their fold following Ron’s marriage to Carol. The warmth of his friendship will be sorely missed by his many friends, north and south of the border especially by Nancy Bell (and her late husband, John) who maintained unbroken contact over the years and not least by his former colleagues in British Rail and British Transport Hotels/Travellers Fare, above all by Bill Currie his fellow Director at BTH, whose close friendship at work and in retirement never waned. Cremation at Torquay Crematorium, Hele Road, Torquay TQ2 7QG on Monday, 31st March at 2.45pm. Family flowers only. No black ties or dress. Donations if desired to Cancer Research UK or Army Benevolent Fund c/o T. & I. Stockman, 7 Churston Broadway, Paignton, 01803 843710. (Worded by Mr Harry Hyde dec’d).
