I only heard last week from another ex-TSB manager of Gordon’s death. I worked with him on two separate occasions in the bank and bumped into him after his retirement a few times in Paisley where I had a business. I first went to the madhouse that was West Nile Street branch as an office junior in the late 70’s where he initially put the fear of god into me but the second time, we got along and found a shared interest in The Folio Society book club. He was an incredibly driven character and I remember my time at the old 37-46 with a lot of affection.

Good morning....I was so sorry to learn of Gordon's death this morning, he must only have been about early 70's. I worked with Gordon around 1979. He was the assistant manager in LTSB Head Office in Ingram Street and I was in his team. We got on well together and I enjoyed our working relationship and friendship, although I have not seen him for many years as I moved away from Glasgow some time ago.Just wanted to let you know that I am thinking about him and the family and hope you give him a pleasant send off.
