My condolences to John Hunter and his family at this sad time.

I knew Aunt Kay as a young child. Even after moving to Canada and living there most of my life I still was able to see her on my visits back to Renfrewshire. I cherish happy memories of my vists with Aunt Kay and Uncle Billy.

My last visit with Aunt Kay was when Uncle Billy was in a care home. She drove us to see him and we were impressed with her driving skills. She was in her 80's at the time! We were even more impressed when she revealed the contents of the picnic hamper that she took on a daily visit to see her husband. A bottle of single malt scotch that was part of Uncle Billy's daily care rations. A nurse at heart. Even though she had been retired from nursing a long time her work ethic never left her.

During WWII she met Uncle Billy when she was a recent graduate of nursing. He was convalescing in hospital and Aunt Kay assisted in his recovery. At the end of his life she was still nursing him. Now that she has gone on to meet Uncle Billy , she will no doubt be making sure that he is being well looked after.

She was a great lady and she will be sadly missed by me (Lorna Bond), my husband Ian, my son Justin and my two brothers Oliver and Cliff. May she rest in peace.
