A (hopeful) day at the Antiques Roadshow By Ali Howard

It’s just before 9am on a Thursday morning in the normally sleepy, quiet village of Blair Atholl in Perthshire.

The Glasgow train has just pulled in to the station and about 15 people get off – enough to make the local shopkeeper step outside, squint in the morning sun and stare. They’re all lugging things – boxes, bags and suitcases.
