Twilight star Robert Pattinson leads a cast that also includes Uma Thurman, Kristin Scott Thomas and Christina Ricci in this adaptation of Guy de Maupassant's 1885 novel. Pattinson is Georges Duroy: handsome, amoral, freshly returned from military service in Algeria and on the make in upper-crust French society; Thurman, Scott Thomas and Ricci are the women he beds on the way to whatever passes for the top.
