A Facebook analysis of conversations about tomorrow's British Academy of Film and Television Arts (Bafta) awards has revealed which nominees could be tipped for success.

Facebook analysed the mentions of the nominated films, directors, actors and actresses being discussed the most on the site in the UK during the nomination period (January 9 to February 1).

In the Leading Actor category, Benedict Cumberbatch was been discussed most, followed by Birdman's Michael Keaton.

Despite odds being as short as 1/7 with some bookmakers, rival British nominee and Screen Actors Guild winner, Eddie Redmayne only comes in third on the list.

In the Leading Actress category Facebook fans are more in tune with the critics' predictions with Julianne Moore, nominated for her performance in Still Alice, gaining the most mentions.

Despite having over 1.8 million fans on Facebook, Reese Witherspoon comes in second when it comes to UK fan mentions, followed by Amy Adams, Rosamund Pike and Felicity Jones.

Birdman is Facebook fans' favourite for Best Film, beating British productions The Imitation Game and The Theory of Everything.

Both Boyhood and The Grand Budapest Hotel - despite being heavily tipped by the experts - are not as popular, coming in at fourth and fifth.
