Natural navigators

All Roads Lead Home

BBC 2, 8pm

Three celebrities are drawn into the strange, dungy world of natural navigation, in the first of this new series.

I know what you’re thinking – that’ll be getting about without your satnav, GPS or smart phone and without looking every three minutes at Google maps or phoning a friend. Your mind is popping up images of old-fashioned boy scouts, compasses and soggy paper maps. Except that is far too modern and technological for natural navigator to the stars Tristan Gooley. His tools are sheep’s dung, tree silhouettes and the position of the sun.
