Survival of the fittest?

Lemmy: The Movie

BBC Four, 9.40pm

Yes, it is that Lemmy – legendary son of an army chaplain and frontman of rock monsters Motorhead for the last 30 years.

Documentary makers Greg Oliver and Wes Orshoski shadowed the stetson-wearing musician, real name Ian Fraser Kilmister, over a three-year period in Los Angeles, where he now lives. And so we see him (variously) hanging out with Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl and members of Metallica, filming a scene with David Duchovny for comedy series Californication and conversing with his grown-up son Paul. The documentary had its UK premiere at last year’s London Film Festival and here makes its TV bow.
