The challenge of bringing triumph out of adversity

Dan Berglund had no ambitions of forming his own band.

He was quite happy being the bass player in the most successful jazz group of the early twenty-first century.

The death in June 2008 of Esbjorn Svensson, figurehead of E.S.T. and Berglund’s friend and colleague of 15 years, hit the jazz world hard.
