Thanks in no small part to the Usher Hall’s near neighbour, the HMV Picture House, Edinburgh has been well served for world music artists this past year and this concert presented two of the more remarkable examples from opposite ends of the technological spectrum.
With admirable self possession and complete control of the microchips at his feet, Cameroonian singer-guitarist Muntu Valdo created, if not quite the promised orchestra, then quite a formidable one-man band that covered a global reach in short order.
