What better time then to launch our new playlist?

Each week, with the help of Spotify, I'll be bringing you a new playlist featuring 10 tracks with a common theme. This week, to mark the start of World Digital Week on Monday, here's a playlist of the 10 most popular songs in Scotland on Spotify in July 2013.

Robin Thicke, featuring T.I and Pharrell Williams

The first single from Thicke's album of the same name has become a global summer hit. It is the second biggest-selling UK single of 2013, having sold more than four million copies, and has topped the charts in 102 countries.

Wake Me Up

Avicii

The first single from Avicii's debut album True is already being touted as the summer anthem of 2013. Selling 88,000 copies in the UK during its first day on sale, the track has reached number one in 63 countries.

Let Her Go

Passenger

The second single from Passenger's 2012 third album All the Little Lights. The track went mainstream this year when it reached number two in the UK and topped the charts across the world.

I Love It

Icona Pop, featuring Charli XCX

This track featured in an ad for Microsoft's Internet Explorer. The song reached number one in the UK singles chart and became the duo's first US hit after it was covered in Glee and used as the theme for MTV's Jersey Shore spinoff Snooki and JWoww.

La La La

Naughty Boy, featuring Sam Smith

The second single from Naughty Boy's debut album Hotel Cabana hit number one in the UK. The video - based on The Wizard of Oz - has received over 77 million YouTube hits.

Get Lucky

Daft Punk, featuring Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers

Marking the much-anticipated return of Daft Punk, Get Lucky is the biggest-selling single of 2013. It is the first single from the French duo's fourth studio album, Random Access Memories.

Bang Bang

will.i.am, featuring Shelby Spalione

Fusing jazz with electronic and synth-pop, this song reached number 3 in the UK charts following its release in June 2013. The track, which contains samples of a Charleston and lyrics from Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down), was part of the soundtrack for Baz Luhrman's 2013 silver screen adaptation of The Great Gatsby.

Do I Wanna Know?

Arctic Monkeys

This is the second single from the Sheffield band's fifth studio album AM. Reaching number 11 in the UK, its accompanying video has received over nine million views on YouTube.

Can't Hold Us

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, featuring Ray Dalton

Taken from Macklemore and Lewis' 2012 collaborative album The Heist, it includes vocals from actress Susannah Wetzel, who starred as Julie in US children's television show Barney & Friends.

The Other Side

Jason Derulo

Derulo has said he wrote the song about his girlfriend, Jordin Sparks. The video has received over 21 million YouTube views.
