A fitting venue for an honour won by a masterful duo

Although it is now designated "Film City" and the judges for the first annual Scottish Album of the Year Award were closeted away in offices usually occupied by independent film and television production companies, the building known to the older among us as Govan Town Hall turned out to be a fine venue for the new prize.

The hall itself was nicely turned out and boasts no current connection with any of the crop of promoters, managers and musicians represented in the room, but holds a nice cache of rock 'n' roll memories.
