Welsh band Super Furry Animals have announced their first live dates for six years, including a gig at the O2 Academy in Glasgow on May 5.
Although singer Gruff Rhys has been active on the live circuit recently in support of his book and film American Interior, and bass player Guto Pryce has been playing with side project band Gulp, this is Super Furry Animals' first UK dates since their Dark Days/Light Years tour in 2009.
The band will also be marking the 15th anniversary of their Mwng album, with a deluxe re-release from Domino Records on May 1. Mwng, their first album entirely in the Welsh language, charted at No 11 and, although long out-of-print, will be re-released in several CD, vinyl and digital formats, including deluxe editions that feature five extra tracks previously only heard on the American edition, an unreleased Peel Session and a full live show recorded at ATP.

The popular Sunday afternoon jazz sessions in Clarks Bar in Dundee continue through March in their new time slot of 3.30-5.30pm. A pool of local talent, drawn from across the generations, provides a selection of jazz standards and fusion classics, with guests from out of town appearing once a month.
March's guest is Aberdeen-based singer Mary Mac, who brings her quartet to the city centre hostelry on March 22.

An additional matinee performance of Disney On Ice has been added to the show's late-March run at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow. The skating spectacular, which features characters from smash-hit Frozen as well as timeless favourites such as Mickey and Minnie Mouse, will now also be performed at 3pm on Friday March 27.

A new album that aims to raise awareness of the plight of endangered bird species in South America has used the songs of these birds to create music in partnership with some of the continent's brightest new talents.
Environmental activist and passionate bird enthusiast Robin Perkins created a list of endangered species and matched them with musicians from the birds' respective countries to incorporate samples of birdsong into their compositions.
The result, A Guide To The Birdsong Of South America, will raise funds for those working to protect these birds and pay the salary of the chief ranger of the Tapichalaca reserve in Ecuador. The album is released on March 10.
