BARNEY'S Beer, the craft beer operation based at Edinburgh's Summerhall arts venue, has created a new brew to honour Scottish band Idlewild and their new album, EverythingEver Written. The beer is entitled Barney's Idlewild Scottish Fiction IPA and the label carries the legend Hops is Important as a nod to the band's longest-serving fans. It will be available, in a limited edition of 1250 bottles, from February 16, the day of release of the album, Idlewild's eight and the first from the group in five years. The mix of Scottish malt is intended to mirror the band's musical influences and the name is that of an Edwin Morgan poem the band featured on their The Remote Part album.

Frontman Roddy Woomble said: "Idlewild are a band of committed and enthusiastic craft beer and ale drinkers, and Barney's Beer has been a favourite for quite a while."
