n THE Kronos string quartet will play Terry Riley's acclaimed Sun Rings at Glasgow's Riverside Museum on July 15 as part of the London 2012 festival celebrations.

NASA's spectacular images of deep space, solar eruptions, starscapes and planetary close-ups will be screened on a video backdrop to accompany the music. Riley's Sun Rings was originally inspired by his discovery that there is sound in space. He worked with the Kronos quartet and visual designer and director Willie Williams, to create this combination of music and powerful visuals.

n ART-POP group The Irrepressibles return to the Arches in Glasgow on June 21 with new electronic audio-visual show Electric Nude. The new work features choreography, bold costumes and a runway-lit catwalk in the band's signature combination of art, music and fashion. Electric Nude will feature live electronic drumming, synthesisers and tubular bells, alongside lead singer Jamie McDermott's vocals. They will perform tracks from their forthcoming album Nude.

n THERE will be a multimedia performance involving the University of Strathclyde's Bach style pipe organ in the Barony Hall on Friday 15 June. The Italian duo AiDADUO (Stefano Vagnini and Giorgia Ragni) will be joined by three young organ students (Mark Browne, Ben Fowler and Geoffrey Woollat) for The FaceBach Project. The show will feature organ music by J S Bach performed with a background soundtrack and video scores and aims to explore Bach's organ works combine with today's technologies.
