Tickets reduced

An anonymous local resident has stepped in to sponsor Red Note Ensemble's performance as part of the West End Festival's Cottier Chamber Project, meaning attendees will pay a reduced ticket price. The West End Festival's Michael Dale said: "This last-minute generosity and sense of community is exactly what The West End Festival is all about. As a result of this donation, we are now able to reduce the ticket price to £5, giving audiences the chance to enjoy live world class music for roughly half the cost of a cinema ticket." The Red Note Ensemble's performance will feature tabla player Kuljit Bhamra alongside the group's string players.

Sprinkling fairy dust

ARTeries gallery in Glasgow is selling prints by Archie Forrest, in aid of Maggie's Cancer Centre. The "black fairy" print was conceived by Forrest for gallery owner Neil Motion's mum Jeanie, when she was suffering from breast cancer. The decision was then taken to produce prints and make them available for sale at the gallery.
