A musical Detour

Ally McCrae, presenter of the BBC Introducing show on Radio 1, has launched a new programme with David Weaver, focusing on new Scottish music. Having identified a lack of music coverage on mainstream TV, they set about creating their own programme, available to view at their company Detour's website. The first episode is a 30-minute video featuring gigs and interviews with bands such as United Fruit, Alarm Bells and Miaoux Miaoux. There will be a different episode every month for the next five months, hosted at venues around the country.

Backstage at festival

Edinburgh International Festival, Standard Life and Edinburgh Napier University will produce backstage films featuring celebrities such as violinist Nicola Benedetti, opera star Sophie Bevan and commentator Kirsty Wark that will air before and during the festival. The films, created with students from Napier, will give an insight into what goes on behind the scenes at the festival.
