Fair City roots

SOUTHERN Fried, Perth's festival of American Roots Music, will take place from July 27 to 29. This year's line-up includes John Prine, Darrell Scott and Gretchen Peters. There will also be a special show at Perth Concert Hall celebrating the life and work of Johnny Cash.

Art celebration

THE annual summer exhibition of the Glasgow Society of Women Artists has opened at the Stirling Smith Art Gallery and Museum, featuring sculptures, ceramics, textiles, glass and jewellery, as well as works in oil, watercolour and acrylics.

Gems from all over

ON:AIR, an exhibition of contemporary jewellery, will take place at The Lighthouse in Glasgow from August 10. The event brings together nine artists in residence from across Scotland and provides a platform to show their jewellery and silversmithing pieces.

Kennedy's Kist

FIONA Kennedy's new music production, The Kist, comes to Glasgow's Oran Mor this summer. A musical celebration of Scottish heritage through song and story, and the cast includes George Drennan, James Muldoon, Rachel Oates and Ruairidh McDonald.
