In the pink

Fife-based Springthyme Records are making two long-out-of-print items from the Scottish folk LP back catalogue available once again on CD. Savourna Stevenson's Tickled Pink, from 1985, marked the beginning of a career that has earned the harpist international recognition as both musician and composer.

The other release is the self-titled sole recording from 1984 by all-female group Sprangeen, members of which went on to form the Poozies, who have a Fringe date at the Queen's Hall tomorrow.

All seeing eye

The exhibition What We Have Done, What We Are About To Do has opened at the CCA in Glasgow. It features over 140 films that document the activity of the Third Eye Centre in the 1970s.

The footage covers the early existence of the organisation when it was based in Glasgow's Blythswood Square, the construction of a gallery space and cafe at Sauchiehall Street and features many famous artists, bands and performers.
