Of Canadian-Swedish parentage, McDougall was born in Sweden but in 2001, learning of a music scene that has produced groups including the Be-Good Tanyas, she relocated to Vancouver and has followed the Tanyas to international success, touring widely in Europe and becoming one of Lufthansa's favourite in-flight sounds.
