ARTS NEWS

l RACHEL Sermanni, the 21-year-old Carrbridge singer-songwriter, is releasing her version of Robert Burns' Ae Fond Kiss as a charity single on January 25 so that it can be played by swift shoppers at Burns Nights across the land.

Sermanni, who released her debut album Under Mountains last year, has featured a spare reading of the romantic lyric in her live set, and her studio version of it will be released by Middle of Nowhere Recordings. All profits from the sale of the single will go to Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy in Scotland. Sermanni has forthcoming dates at Aberdeen's Lemon Tree, The Ironworks in Inverness, and at Orkney Folk Festival in May.
