Joyce DiDonato is Mary, Queen of Scots and Elza van den Heever is Elizabeth, in her Met debut. Screens in Aberdeen, Dundee, Dunfermline, Edinburgh, Falkirk, Galashiels, Glasgow and Perth now show the operas, 6pm start.

l The panto-style fun doesn't stop at the Gaiety in Ayr, reopened and under new management and boasting (not unreasonably) of attracting more than 20,000 people to the four-week Yuletide run of Cinderella.
