l The National Youth Orchestra of Scotland has had a revamp.

A junior and a senior orchestra will now feed into NYoS. The young 'uns have a concert under the baton of Roland Kieft at the Sage, Gateshead, on April 14, playing Britten, Borodin and the Trumpet Concerto of Aratyunyan with the Northern Sinfonia's Principal Trumpet Richard Martin. The seniors are at Greyfriars, Edinburgh, on April 9 with James Lowe, playing Britten, Borodin's Symphony No 3 and Dvorak's tone poem Noon Witch.
