Sgoil Chiùil na Gàidhealtachd, the national centre of excellence in traditional music at Plockton High School, has released its annual progress report on a double CD, Caution:

Children Playing.

The youngsters playing are 22 teenagers whose work in groups ranging from duos and trios to the full school roll in harmony is featured in songs and tunes from both sides of the Atlantic. The CD includes a tribute to a friend of the school who died in 2012, Michael Marra, on his song The Fold.

Five join board at Horsecross

The recently-appointed chairman of Horsecross Arts, Magnus Linklater (above), has announced the appointment of a new board for Horsecross Arts, the creative organisation behind Perth Concert Hall and Perth Theatre.

The new board members are Lesley Thomson, Patrick Emslie, John Low, Jason Elles and Georgina Bullough.

The board is the independent group of trustees who will steer the future development of Horsecross Arts.
