Stars bring it all home for Gerry Rafferty festival
The current exhibition about the life of singer-songwriter Gerry Rafferty at Paisley Museum will be joined in the coming month by a festival celebrating his music, Bring It All Home, running from April 11 to 19.
The central show, which features Martha Rafferty alongside Barbara Dickson, Eddi Reader and Rab Noakes performing the songs of the man himself has sold out, but other highlights of programme can still be snapped up including the opening International Concert at Paisley Abbey on Friday, April 11 with Mary Gauthier and Paul Brady.
The closing show is billed as A Celebration of Scottish Songwriting and it's starry bill includes Karine Polwart, Midge Ure, James Grant and the very funky Hamish Stuart of the Average White Band.

Dubl Handi take tour of Scotland
The resident band at award-winning film-makers the Coen brothers' favourite haunt in Brooklyn take a break from their regular gig at the Jalopy Theatre to tour Scotland this week. Dubl Handi take their name from a 19th century washboard-maker but have been energising youthful 21st century audiences with their fresh, powerfully rhythmic take on the Appalachian string band tradition. Featuring multi-instrumentalist Brian Geltner, who made a big impression in these parts with the Wiyos, banjo picker and singer Hilary Hawke and singer-guitarist Jonathan LaDeau, they play gigs in Edinburgh (Wednesday 2), Kirkcaldy (Thursday 3), Hawick (Friday 4), Biggar (Saturday 5) and Irvine (Sunday 6).

Fiddler Marwick marks 25 years
Fiddler Gavin Marwick marks twenty-five years as a professional musician in April with his Journeyman Spectacular tour, a double album and a book of 200 tunes. The ten-strong Journeyman Spectacular ensemble brings together musicians from bands Marwick has featured in - Old Blind Dogs, Bellevue Rendezvous, Up In The Air and Ceilidh Minogue - along with piper-saxophonist-kaval player Fraser Fifield and flautist Claire Mann.
