NASHVILLE-BASED rockers the Bluefields return to Stereo in Glasgow on July 18 for Glasgow Americana promoters Fallen Angels Club. Featuring former members of Georgia Satellites, Jason and The Scorchers, Ryan Adams and the Cardinals, and the Royal Court of China, the band had Stereo jumping to its classic Rolling Stones-meets-roadhouse rock sound on its previous visit to the venue.

Nick Harper hits the tour circuit

HERALD Angel-winning singer, guitarist and songwriter Nick Harper tours Scotland later this month.

Harper released his latest album, Riven, to considerable acclaim last autumn.

He has also built a strong reputation for his energetic live performances, his extraordinary vocal range and his virtuoso guitar skills.

The tour opens at Irvine Sports Club on Thursday July 17 and continues on to Arran, Rothesay, Carbost on Skye, Inverness, and Milngavie before an appearance at The Wickerman Festival in Dumfries and Galloway on Saturday July 26.

Fife town goes forth for festival

ABERDOUR Festival goes ahead in the small historic Fife town on the Forth from August 1 to 10 with a packed programme of attractions.

Live music includes blues, classic jazz and Bon Jovi tribute band the Bon Jovi Experience and there are events morning, afternoon and evening including comedy, storytelling, puppetry, workshops, pony rides, talks, exhibitions, and barbecues.
