In 2004 an 11-year-old schoolboy called Benjamin Grosvenor won the keyboard final of BBC Young Musician of the Year. The English pianist, now a ripe old 20, remains every bit the prodigious talent – this month alone he's taken home two Gramophone Awards and a Classical Brit. If the accolades go to his head he doesn't let it show. This recital had moments of real charm and latent virtuosity, but was often too understated, too introverted to fully communicate.
