The Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO) played the last date of their first tour of China in the former Portuguese colony of Macau.

For this last concert at the Macau Cultural Centre there was a change of programme with Stravinksy’s Firebird suite replacing the Elgar suite played at other venues.

The RSNO’s China Tour was the first mainland Asia visit for Scotland’s national orchestra.

The  Scottish Government’s International Touring Fund (ITF), which invested £110,000 towards the tour, which comprised of six performances in five cities - Shenzhen, Beijing, Guangzhou, Tianjin and finally Macau.
