It has cost him more than £10,000 and taken him all over the world in pursuit of the dream.

But after seeing Kylie Minogue live 50 times in venues from Australia to America, Robert Ince finally got to meet the pop diva in the flesh at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow - and he's got the selfie to prove it.

The 42-year-old, from Conon Bridge, who's general manager of  the Macallan Distillery in Speyside, was plucked from the standing audience after the singer spotted his handmade signs stating that last night's show was his 50th.

Mr Ince, who was at the show with a group of friends who also carried signs, tweeted: "Literally the best night ever!" after climbing on stage to get a selfie with Kylie, who joked as the photo was being taken: "The world has changed a lot since I started."

The Glasgow show was Mr Ince's eighth on Kylie's current Kiss Me Once Tour. He went to Manchester, attended three London shows, and them followed her to Birmingham, Dublin and Belfast.

Kylie was inches from him at the airport in Belfast earlier in the week and but he could not pluck up the courage to speak to her.

He said: "I told her when I was on stage, I had seen her at Belfast airport but I could not get the courage to say hello. She said 'I hope this makes up for it.'"

It certainly did for Mr Ince, who has been a Kylie fan since 1988. He first saw her in the 1990s in Glasgow and since then he travelled the world to see her...joking that his civil partner, Bruce, is in fact a professional Kylie widow.

Aside from the Hydro show, his previous favourite had been the Showgirl Homecoming tour which he saw in Sydney, Australia.

He said: "That was her first show after she battled breast cancer, so it was extra special for me."

Mr Ince is now thinking ahead to his next Kylie show, and admits he is tempted to go back to Australia next year.

But he has to deal with his own fame first: aside from possibly featuring in a DVD for the show - last night was recorded live - Mr Ince has also picked up his own fans.

He joked: "Everyone was calling me the selfie guy last night outside the Hydro and asking for a photo with me..."
