Preceded by three motets written earlier and later in the composer's career, two showcasing the delicious purity of tone of the young women, this was a Requiem to remember. If the measure of a great concert is how it makes you listen anew, it was the opening of the less-remarked Offertory, O Domine Jesu Christe, that most impressed, the altos and tenors in perfect harmony, illustrating the dynamic control that was a feature of the choir's entire performance.
