Pop superstars One Direction are giving away a track from their new album, which they announced today will be called Four.

The quintet are allowing fans to download the song Fireproof for 24 hours for free in anticipation of their fourth album, which will come out on November 17.

One Direction's previous three albums have topped the charts in the UK and they have also been the first act ever to have their first trio of releases debut at number one in the US album chart.

The group's Niall Horan said of the download: "Because you have supported us so much, we wanted to give a little something back."

Fireproof has been written by the group's Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne along with the songwriting team of John Ryan, Jamie Scott and Julian Bunetta, who were behind the hit Story Of My Life.

Previous album Midnight Memories was the biggest seller of 2013 in the UK, and Four is available for pre-orders from today.

The download is at the group's website at www.onedirectionmusic.com.
