Louis Tomlinson's publicist has declined to comment on reports the singer is set to become a father.
According to reports, the One Direction star is said to be expecting a baby with Briana Jungwirth, a US-based stylist.
America's People Magazine broke the story, quoting a "mutual friend" of the pair saying: "Louis is happy and very excited about becoming a dad and he thinks Briana will be an amazing mother.
"It was a surprise at first, but he and Briana are very, very close friends and this has brought them even closer."
The pair are not thought to be in a relationship at the moment.
Tomlinson previously dated Eleanor Calder, but the pair split in March this year.
None of the other One Direction members have commented on the reports yet.
Twitter erupted as the news hit, with One Direction fans using the hashtag #OhNoLouis.
