It's the holy grail of rock shows, something so unbelievable that it's almost beyond comprehension, the coming together of rock legends and one of the genre's current masters on one sensational bill. It's almost too exciting for words.

However, proving that dreams do come true, MTV has somehow turned this fantasy into a reality, staging a show that puts guitar God Slash and Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators on the same stage as Scots rockers Biffy Clyro. I fear I may wake up at any second.

As Biffy Clyro take to the stage and the opening chords of the show ring out the venue erupts.

The excitement heightens as the band launch into an energetic version of The Golden Rule. Crowd surfing, an impressive pyrotechnics display and an even more spectacular amp jump by singer and guitarist Simon Neil swiftly follow.

The high octane set of hits, including The Captain, with appropriately accompanying woos, Who's Got a Match, Bubbles, Glitter and Trauma and Stingin' Belle is punctuated by chants of Mon the Biff and Biffy, Biffy, Biffy f***ing Clyro as well as slower fan favourites such as God and Satan and Machines.

A shout out of "Glasgow you're amazing, we miss you all" from Neil is also lapped up by the crowd.

Many of Horror causes one of many mass sing-alongs and an extra long pause in Living is a Problem Because Everything Dies just adds to the anticipation.

Finishing up with a fantastic version of Mountains Biffy have shown they're going to be a very tough act to follow.

However, those wishing for a duet between the two rock giants were sadly disappointed.

As the Scots rockers say their farewells, it's the turn of Slash, Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators.

Wearing his trademark top hat and shades, the crowd starts jumping as soon as Slash touches his guitar.

Slash is quick to show exactly why he's a music legend, shredding and soloing his way through crowd pleasers including Nighttrain, Back from Cali and Stone Blind on a stage bathed in yellow and blue spotlights.

The combination of Slash with Myles Kennedy and his Conspirators is fantastic and, like a well oiled machine, they never put a foot wrong.

Highlights include Anastasia, Bent to Fly and World on Fire, while Guns N' Roses classics You Could Be Mine, Mr Brownstone and Sweet Child of Mine are met with screams of jubilation.

Finishing with Slither, a track by Slash's former band Velvet Revolver, gets the crowd on their feet before an encore of Paradise City brings the evening to a close.

With both acts already scheduled to play Glasgow again next month, fans will definitely be counting down the days till they return.
