In 2015 the University of Edinburgh's Talbot Rice Gallery celebrates its 40th birthday.
This landmark year will see a series of celebrations and events.
Exhibitions will include Ross Birrell in March and May, with his first major solo exhibition in Scotland.
The German conceptual artist Hanne Darboven will have her first major show in Scotland from August to October.
Luc Tuymans will have a show from November to December.
Acting as artist and curator, Tuymans will select a group of Henry Raeburn portraits from the University of Edinburgh's Collections to be shown alongside his own, newly commissioned work.
The year will also see the re-launch of the Round Room Programme.
Operating as a residency and open studio space, the Round Room will offer emerging artists, both local and international, the space, time and financial support to aid the development of their practice.
