(Delphian)

I'm going to jump the gun with this new disc because the main thing people should know is that it is here and, as of April 6, is out there. Luminate is a celebration of 30 years of Live Music Now Scotland, that glorious, critically important organisation which provides young artists with priceless experience, composers with unique opportunities in contexts they might not have imagined, and an organisation that can inject music as direct care into communities that benefit most, whether they be in hospital, hospice, nursing home or in the broader society. Yehudi Menuhin founded it in 1977. He lit the flame. It burns to this day. Carol Main picked up the torch in Scotland in 1984 and has never put it down. The sheer quality of the work produced in the name of LMNS rings through this CD, with music from McGuire, Sweeney, Nicolson and Geddes, and committed playing from Wildings, the Astrid Quartet and others, reflecting the commitment. More of this anon.
