It sounds like he has a taste for old-school post-punk, the kind of thing that results from a high-speed collision between Devo and Dead Kennedys, where Sparks literally and metaphorically fly. If your musical brain doesn't stretch that far back, think Art Brut or Futureheads with sharper angles and a wilder sense of organised chaos.
