Scottish Ballet has announced its plans for 2015/16.

The company will present three world premieres, a European premiere and a Scottish Ballet premiere during its next season.

In the coming months, Scottish Ballet will tour extensively across the UK, and also travel to China and Japan. There are also plans for a return to the US where the company will undertake a four-week, six-city tour culminating in a debut at the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in Washington DC.

The award-winning A Streetcar Named Desire will play Inverness, Edinburgh and London before going to Chicago, San Antonio, Houston, Charleston, Pittsburgh and Washington DC. The company has also commissioned international choreographer David Dawson to create a new Swan Lake.

Scottish Ballet's Artistic Director, Christopher Hampson, said: "David always looks to push the boundaries of classical ballet, and I know that his production of an iconic story will be a thoughtful, fresh and very bold addition to our repertoire."
