The Edinburgh Mela will have an additional stage, hosting the new Mela World Dance Feste.

The event returns to its usual site on Leith Links from August 31–September 2. Highlights include a collaboration between Manchester theatre company Walk The Plank and Edinburgh's Dance Ihayami on August 31.

The Scottish National Portrait Gallery has announced it will host In It To Win It, a new exhibition featuring portraits and photographs of Scotland's sports stars to tie in with the London Olympics.

Glenfiddich's distillery-based artists in residence programme returns to Dufftown in Speyside this month. Running from June to October, it features Daniel Zalkus and Juhikadevi Bhanjdeo. The new works created by the artists will feature in a series of exhibitions at Glenfiddich's on-site gallery.
