Bodyguard is set to premiere north of Border

More dates may be announced, but currently His Majesty's in Aberdeen has a Scottish exclusive, and certainly the Scottish premiere, of the stage version of the Whitney Houston/Kevin Costner film The Bodyguard. The musical has been running at the Adelphi Theatre in London's West End since the end of 2012 and now has Alexandra Burke in the lead role of Rachel Marron, with Tristan Gemmill as her minder, Frank Farmer. The new touring production, which has yet to be cast, will premiere at Southampton's Mayflower Theatre in February 2015 before opening in Aberdeen from Tuesday, March 17, for a fortnight run. Tickets go on sale on Thursday.
