Fringe Q&As: Alistair Green

Alistair Green talks to HeraldScotland about being hit by a griddle pan, sex addiction and the Western Isles.

Tell us about your Fringe show

A moan about everything I think is wrong with the world including my own pitiful shortcomings as a human being. Sounds hilarious, doesn't it. I'm also doing a character show on the free Fringe called Jack Spencer: Sex Addict about a delusional wannabe stand up who thinks hes a sex addict. It's not based on me, by the way

Best thing about the Fringe?

Seeing good shows

Worst thing about the Fringe?

Seeing rubbish shows

How many years have you been coming to the Fringe?

Five years

Favourite Fringe venue?

The Stand

Best Fringe memory?

Sitting in a pub and seeing the person next to me tear my flyer up to use as a cigarette filter.

Best heckle?

I did a gig in front of four backpackers and the pub dog years ago. The dog walked out.

Craziest on stage experience?

Getting hit with a griddle pan

What's on your rider?

A protective helmet

How do you wind down after a show?

Eat, bath and sleep. And not necessarily in that order! Lol! (Exactly in that order.)

What do you love about Scotland?

The Western isles. Tiree, Islay, Mull and especially Iona.

What do you like about Edinburgh?

Proximity to the Western isles even though it's not that near.

What's the most Scottish thing you've done?

Shit myself. Sorry I mean ate a haggis.

What kind of jokes do a Scottish crowd seem to respond to?

Anything that involves me humiliating myself. The same as anywhere else.

Favourite joke?

I don't know any. Should be a cracking show, shouldn't it.
