Suzi Ruffell talks to HeraldScotland about bagpipes, shandy and nice shoes.

Tell us about your Fringe show

My show is called Social Chameleon and its about the changes I make (and I think a lot of people make) to try and please others. Its about learning to stand up for yourself too.

Best thing about the Fringe?

Seeing other shows.

Worst thing about the Fringe?

Being away from home.

How many years have you been coming to the Fringe?

The is my second hour and I did a group show before that so this is the 3rd full year.

Favourite Fringe venue?

I am in the Assembly George Square this year which is brilliant. I have this lovely little studio with a fab tech team.

Best Fringe memory?

I think I am making some this year. Really enjoying my Fringe.

Best heckle?

I was once heckled with nice shoes, I think it was ironic which really hurt. I like my shoes.

Craziest on stage experience?

I haven't had that many really. I was joined on stage (without my asking) by a stag do dressed as a variety of Little Britain characters. It was actually quite fun, I interviewed them. I felt like Michael Parkinson.

What's on your rider?

I, of course, don't have one. If I did, it would be Jelly Babies, coffee and water

How do you wind down after a show?

Often a pint of shandy

What do you love about Scotland?

The people and the accent.

What do you like about Edinburgh?

The castle. I prefer the city the rest of the year to be honest, I think it loses its beauty covered in flyers and posters (sorry about that!)

What's the most Scottish thing you've done?

Had a go on bagpipes. Dreadful, made a terrible racket then accidentally threw them on the floor. The guy they belonged to looked massively angry.

What kind of jokes do a Scottish crowd seem to respond to?

Hopefully all of them. I used to have a routine where I did a Glaswegian accent, that got a mixed response.

Favourite joke?

There's so so many its impossible to choose. This one is pretty good: I told my girlfriend I don't want to go to an eighties fancy dress party, but she remains adamant. It's not mine its Gary Delaney's, it always tickles me.
