Cole Porter's High Society reached all the right notes at the Festival Theatre: this Music and Lyrics production (in association with Venue Cymru) had eyes sparkling with joy and toes tapping with the spirit of the jazz age as the fine ensemble and impressive lead cast invited the audience along to their swell party in Long Island, circa 1938.
The disparate decadence of the times was beautifully displayed by Francis O'Connor's set and costume design, and Andrew Wright's choreography brought a modern air to the classic tale of leisurely rich folk, amusing mistaken identities and, ultimately, of a true love to treasure.
