l Ivor Cutler was born in Glasgow in 1923 and first recorded songs and poems for the Home Service radio show Monday Night At Home, which he appeared on 38 times between 1959 and 1963.
l Paul McCartney spotted Cutler on a late night television show, and invited him to play Buster Bloodvessel in the Beatles film, Magical Mystery Tour.
l Beatles producer George Martin worked on Cutler's first album, Ludo.
l Cutler recorded his first session for John Peel's BBC Radio 1 programme in 1969. It was then followed by another 21.
l Cutler released 15 records on labels that included Virgin, Rough Trade and Creation.
l Life in a Scotch Sitting Room, Volume 2 was recorded live at the Third Eye Centre in Glasgow, and released in 1978.
l He published 12 books of poetry, six prose works and 14 children's books. He died in 2006, aged 83.
