Viewers are to choose the music to accompany EastEnders stalwart Ian Beale walking down the aisle to tie the knot for a fifth time.

The public will choose whether hits by Jennifer Rush, Foreigner, Chicago, Alison Moyet or Eurythmics should be the soundtrack as he marries former wife Jane (played by Laurie Brett) once again.

And in keeping with the show's 30th anniversary celebrations next month, each of the songs was a hit in 1985, the year the programme launched.

Ian (Adam Woodyatt), the show's longest-running character, first married Jane in 2007 after abandoning their plans a year earlier when he discovered her fling with Grant Mitchell. After splitting in 2011, they rekindled their relationship last year.

Their forthcoming marriage will form part of a week of anniversary programming, from February 16.

The choice will be between Rush's The Power Of Love, Foreigner's I Want To Know What Love is, Chicago's You're The Inspiration, Moyet's That Ole Devil Called Love and the Eurythmics' There Must Be An Angel (Playing With My Heart) and voting has begun at the programme's section on the BBC website.

Ian has previously been married to Cindy, Melanie and Laura.
