Internationally acclaimed Scottish photographer Max Milligan has previously portrayed countries such as Peru, Ghana, and the Lebanon, and has now turned his lenses on the land where he was born.

The Soul of Scotland includes 300 colour photographs taken from all points east and west, north and south, featuring well known landmarks to hidden treasures.

Milligan describes himself as a fine art photographer who relies on natural light and refuses to deploy flash, filters, and manipulation.

Here we showcase 10 of the portraits.

The Soul of Scotland, by Max Milligan, is published by Quadrille, priced £40
