l Edinburgh Folk Club has launched an ambitious fund-raising drive by releasing a CD of live performances from the long-running club's recent history.

Featuring an international cast including Dick Gaughan, Canadian singer-songwriter James Keelaghan and Geordie songsmith Jez Lowe, Live at Edinburgh Folk Club was produced in-house by the club's sound engineer Jack Foster and features photos by committee member Allan MacMillan. The CD, priced £11.50, is available from www.edinburghfolkclub.co.uk and proceeds will go towards maintaining the club's programme and sound equipment.

l Scottish bands Admiral Fallow, Rustie and Travis are among the nominees for the AIM Independent Music Awards. The bands are nominated in the categories Best Difficult Second Album, Independent Album of the Year and Most Played Independent Act. Eleven of the categories are voted for by an expert panel of judges from across the music industry, with a further three categories voted for by the public. The awards will take place in London on October 29 and will be hosted by radio presenters Huw Stephens and Steve Lamacq. Edwyn Collins will be awarded the Outstanding Contribution to Music Award on the night.

l Audiences in Edinburgh and Dundee will be given another chance to see the Scottish Dance Theatre's acclaimed children's dance piece What On Earth!? The show will be performed at the Byre Theatre in St Andrews on October 10 and the Dundee Rep Theatre on November 20. The show, which is choreographed by Sally Owen and Janet Smith, is aimed at children aged five years and upwards.

l Tickets to the 10th staging of Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival have gone on sale. The festival takes place on August 2-3 2013 at the Belladrum Estate, near Beauly in Inverness-shire and will have a carnival theme in 2013. Festival promoter Joe Gibbs said: "We really hope as many as possible of those people who have supported us in the past will come and celebrate this significant birthday at Bella, but we will also hope to welcome the usual complement of newcomers to the event".
