The Thick Of It: Series 1-4 Box Set (18)

What comes in a red, government-style briefcase and features epic amounts of swearing? That's right, it's the complete set of all four series of Armando Iannucci's political satire, spread over eight discs and, yes, contained in one of those famous dispatch boxes. There are (probably) no more series to come, so the completists among you can rest assured this really is every f***, c*** and c***-****** that ever issued forth from Malcolm Tucker's thin, scary lips. Enjoy.

The Lorax (U)

Computer-animated version of Dr Seuss's eco-themed 1971 work, starring the voices of Danny DeVito as the grumpy orange creature of the title; Zac Efron as Ted, the 12-year-old hero; and singer Taylor Swift as Ted's friend, Audrey.

The Man In The White Suit (U)

Directed by Scot Alexander Mackendrick and released on Blu-Ray in a digitally restored version as part of Mackendrick's ongoing centenary celebrations, this 1951 classic stars a fresh-faced Alec Guinness as a philanthropic inventor who comes up with a fabric that never gets dirty – to the consternation of manufacturers and unions. Like all the best Ealing comedies, it's as much about social satire as crowd-pleasing whimsy. Reissued here by Studio Canal, extras include a new documentary about the film.

Searching For Sugar Man (12)

Documentary by Malik Bendjelloul about his attempts to track down obscure Mexican-American singer Rodriguez, momentarily the next big thing in the early 1970s. Oblivion soon sucked Rodriguez under in the US, but in apartheid-era South Africa his politically inspired songs made him a cult artist and a folk hero of sorts. His career now resurrected by Bendjelloul's film, Rodriguez is currently touring the UK. The title refers to his best-known song, Sugar Man, and you can hear him sing it at Edinburgh's Usher Hall next Sunday.
